Cupping Massage

What is Cupping Massage?

Ancient wisdom. Modern relief. A different kind of deep.

Cupping is one of the oldest healing practices in the world — rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine and used for over 2,000 years across Chinese, Egyptian, and Middle Eastern cultures. Today, it’s one of the most sought-after therapies for deep muscle relief, and for good reason.

While traditional massage uses compression (pressing down into the tissue), cupping works through decompression — silicone or glass cups create a gentle suction that lifts the skin, separates fascial layers, and draws fresh blood flow into areas of chronic tightness. This unique «inverse pressure» reaches tissue depths that hands alone cannot access.

Esbe integrates cupping directly into her massage sessions, gliding the cups along muscle groups or holding them on specific points of restriction. The result: loosened fascia, improved circulation, accelerated tissue healing, and a feeling of deep release that clients describe as «finally being able to breathe in that area.»

This session is ideal for:

Chronic muscle tightness and knots.

Athletes recovering from training or competition.

Back, shoulder, and neck tension.

Fibromyalgia and myofascial paintal relaxation.

Anyone who hasn’t found relief through traditional massage alone.

Respiratory issues and chest tightness.

What to expect:

Esbe will assess which areas need cupping as part of your session. Cups are placed on the skin and glide smoothly with massage oil, or held stationary on specific points. You may feel a warm pulling sensation — deep but not painful. After the session, temporary circular marks may appear on the skin. These are not bruises — they are a sign of increased circulation and typically fade within 3 to 7 days. Most clients are surprised by how much better they feel immediately after.

Note: The circular marks left by cupping are a normal and expected part of the therapy. They vary in color depending on the level of stagnation in the tissue, and fade naturally within a few days.
